Quantify words คือคำหรือกลุ่มคำ ที่แสดงความมากน้อยของนาม ใช้วางหน้าคำนามเช่น 

• Some – Any = มีบ้าง

• Few – A few = พอมีอยู่บ้าง

• Little – A little = มีน้อย

• Much – Many

• A lot of มาก

• lots ofมาก

Some - Any Some ใช้นำหน้าคำนามที่นับไม่ได้ (uncountable N.) และคำนาม พหูพจน์ เฉพาะประโยคบอกเล่า เช่น Narong has some money in his pocket. Udom buys some shirts.. ณรงค์มีเงินอยู่ในกระเป๋าของเขา อุดมซื้อเสื้อเชิ้ต

Any ใช้นำหน้าคำนามที่นับไม่ได้ (uncountable N.) และคำนาม พหูพจน์ เช่นเดียวกัน แต่ใช้ในประโยคคำถามและประโยคปฏิเสธ Has Narong any money in his pocket? Udom does not buys any shirts. ณรงค์มีเงินอยู่ในกระเป๋าของเขาบ้างไหม อุดมไม่ได้ซื้อเสื้อเชิ้ตเลย

Little – A little แปลว่า “น้อย” เช่นเดียวกับ “ few และ a few แต่ทั้งสองคำนี้ ใช้กับคำนามที่นับไม่ได้ He’s very poor, he has little money. Little มีความหมายว่า น้อยมาก แทบไม่มีเลย เป็นความหมาย ในเชิงปฏิเสธ เช่น

A little มีความหมายว่า มีนิดหน่อย แต่ก็พอเพียง เช่น We have a little sugar to make tea . ชงชา

Much – Many Much ใช้ประกอบ Uncountable N. เช่น much rain much work much coffee much sugar Many ใช้กับคำนามนับได้ Countable N. พหูพจน์ เช่น many men many houses many doctors many hospitals

ตัวอย่าง There is much rain in July. มีฝนมากในเดือนกรกฎาคม We have much coffee. เรามีกาแฟมาก I met many students last night. คืนที่แล้วฉันเจอนักเรียนมากมาย There are many doctors and nurses in the hospital. มีหมอและพยาบาลมากในโรงพยาบาล

Lots of - A lot of แปลว่า มีมาก ใช้ประกอบคำนามที่นับไม่ได้ – Uncountable N. และคำนามพหูพจน์ – Plural Nouns มักใช้ในประโยคบอกเล่า Lots of people are walking along the street. มีคนมากมายเดินไปตามถนน A lot of books are on the table. Suda’s brother drinks a lot of beer . Lots of money is in the drawer . เบียร์ ลิ้นชัก

Few – A few แปลว่า “น้อย” ใช้ประกอบคำนามนับได้พหูพจน์ Deja has few friends in this town.. Few มีความหมายว่า น้อยมาก แทบไม่มีเลย ไม่พอ เป็นความหมายในเชิงปฏิเสธ เช่น เดชา เมือง

A few แปลว่า น้อย เช่นเดียวกัน แต่มีความหมายว่า ถึงจะมีน้อย แต่ก็เพียงพอ เช่น He has a few friends there. ที่นั่น
